Preserving Our Home.
Enriching Our Community. Serving Sausalito.
WELCOME TO SCC CARES
We are the charitable foundation of the Sausalito Cruising Club community — dedicated to preserving one of Sausalito's most beloved landmarks, our historic World War II ammunition barge, while giving back to the waterfront city we call home. Whether you're a longtime Club member, a neighbor who's always admired the barge from the shore, or someone who believes in the power of maritime heritage and community service — there's a place for you here.

Our Story
The Sausalito Cruising Club was founded in 1948 by returning World War II veterans and local mariners who wanted camaraderie, community, and a connection to boating on the bay. More than 65 years later, we still gather in the same remarkable clubhouse — a refurbished WWII ammunition barge moored at Dunphy Park since 1960. SCC CARES was created to ensure that this irreplaceable piece of Sausalito maritime history endures — and that the values of service, stewardship, and community that built it continue to inspire the generations ahead.
